It was an exciting transition on April 15 when I accepted the position of President on the Board of Directors. Working as the VP for a year and Special Projects Chair for the year before that, I had come up with several ideas to evolve this organization in a few key areas as follows; Growth, Innovation, Opportunity, and Education.

I am proud to share all the work we have done in those key areas since April and plans for the second half of 2025 into early 2026.

Growth:

Focusing on current members needs through website updates, member renewals and referrals, and appreciation
Frequent engagement with our current Chapters for awareness of coming initiatives they can get involved in
Student Focus work is underway including speaking engagements, marketing plan and free online classes
New member drives coming in 2026 are being built as we speak!

Innovation:

New website functionality is always evolving and making it easier to find and register for workshops and online classes
Member Blog on the website has several wonderful articles and videos on what our membership is working on
Member Highlight page on the website is there for all of you members to flex your skills and highlight what you are excited about like large jobs recently completed, off the ladder art exhibitions or shows, magazine articles featuring YOU, new website launches, etc.
The Board team is building a new format for future conventions
We have partnered with Benevity to receive donations, volunteers for events, and opportunity for grants

Opportunity:

IDAL is sponsoring events and workshops allowing us to engage with new audiences and spread awareness of our organization leading to new memberships
We are opening up some of our workshops and events to include non-members to register and learn. This leads to several opportunities for new membership, chapters and grants keeping our organization strong!
We are working with our amazing sponsors on continuing to support our organization with some really exciting Field Trips coming in 2026!

Education:

In-Person Workshops and Online Classes are underway and proving successful. Make sure you register early!
We are building a new learning experience on the website for our members (coming in 2026)
We are working on several new certifications exclusive for our members (coming in 2026)

As you can see, we are working on so many new and exciting things! Now I want to highlight how you can get involved!
